Rufus A Dees
Rufus A Dees - 1936-2013
Rufus Alexander Dees, Jr. went home to be with our lord Jesus Thursday, October 31 2013.  He was born April 11th 1936 in Vredenburgh, AL. He married the love of his life, Margaret Ann on March 22, 1956. He is survived by his wife Margaret Ann, who were married for 57 years, two daughters Rita Baker (Steve) and Lisa Watson (Joe) and four grandchildren (Mark Baker, Jr., Michael Baker (Maegan), Candace Watson, Tyler Watson) and one great grandson Tristan Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus A. Dees, Sr. and Mary Lee Dees and his brother Bob Dees. Rufus and Margaret Ann met and fell in love when they were teenagers. They were married in Camden, AL on March 22, 1956 and started a family that would continue to grow and prosper throughout the years. Rufus and Margaret Ann moved to Pensacola in 1959 and resided there the rest of their years together.   Rufus worked at Westinghouse for over 28 years where he eventually retired. He was admired and loved by everyone. He was an avid ham radio enthusiast and his call sign WB4UKG will be remembered by those he communicated with throughout the world. When Rufus passed on Thursday night the world lost one of the greatest men who ever walked the earth. He loved his family dearly and it was evident everyday through his actions and words. He exemplified a kindness and compassion for those he loved like no other. Anytime someone was in need, they could always count on Rufus to come to their rescue. Through his random acts of kindness he instilled a compassion and love in each and every one of his family members that will be passed down through the generations to come. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 2013, at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Lentine officiating. Burial services will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
