Ethelwyn “Wendy” Bobe
Ethelwyn “Wendy” Bobe 1921-2013
On April 18, 2013, Ethelwyn "Wendy" Jenks Bobe passed from this earth at age 92 into the eternal life promised to the people of God. Though born on April 1, 1921 in Portland, Oregon, she passed the greater part of her life in Pensacola  after her marriage to Thomas Clinton Bobe in 1940. As the daughter of William Gail Jenks and Ethelwyn Hayden Jenks, Wendy grew up on a farm in the area around Clatskanie, Oregon, and is preceded in death by sisters Phyllis and Adelaide, and brothers William, Shelbourne, and Chester, in addition to her parents and husband. Surviving her are her sister, Evelyn Fulsas of Portland, and four children with their spouses; Terry (Barbara) Bobe of Carrollton, TX; Janice (Danny) Martinez of San Jacinto, CA; Donald (Gwen) Bobe of Foley, AL; and John (Karen) of Gulf Shores, AL. Ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren are her promise for the future.   Wendy graduated from Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, CA and attended a business school in Los Angeles. Clint and Wendy have been known over the years as the owners of Bobe's Hobby House in Pensacola, and many have been assisted by her knowledge, talent and skill in arts and crafts. In the mid 1950's she served as the secretary of the Warrington Baptist Church and has been a member of the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church since 1957. Her particular love in Christ's service was in teaching the Bible to youth and young adults. Wendy has now left us with so many memories, but she is joined with her beloved Clint in Glory! The funeral will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 2pm with visitation one hour prior. Service will be presided over by Rev. Ron Lentine.
