Bobbie E Sasser
Bobbie E Sasser 1932-2015
Bobbie Estelle Sasser, 83, of Hoover, Alabama, was a cosmetologist and successful business owner. Proud of her punctuality, she would tell people that she worked by appointment for 50 years.  She was on time for her last appointment to meet Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on November 27, 2015. She passed away peacefully after a long illness, surrounded by her family and her Hospice nurse, Tracie. Saved at age 11, she was dedicated to her Lord her entire life. A shining, constant example to her children, her faith never wavered. By serving as a Sunday school teacher, and as a leader for the Faith and Master Life programs at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and Olive Baptist Church, she was able to share her joy in the Lord with so many others. The thing closest to her heart was leading others to Christ. Bobbie had the opportunity to travel to many places in her last years. Her trip to the Holy Land was one of her favorites. Bobbie also was a master bridge player, and an avid Alabama football fan. We are certain she had the best seat in the House for the Iron Bowl. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, grandmother and friend. Bobbie touched many lives, and will be sorely missed. Bobbie is preceded in death by her husband CPO Herbert Eugene Sasser, USN, and her brother James Welch. She is survived by her four children: Ruby Jean Lambert (Jerry), Bobbie Jo Rowe (Tom), LtCOL James Lewis Sasser, USMC, Ret. (Peacha) , and COL Walter I.D. Sasser, USAF, Ret. (Janet); seven grandchildren: Peter D'Agostino, Billy D'Agostino, Daniel Perkins, Amberlyn Ponce, Kailyn Smith, David Sasser and Andrew Sasser; and 7 greatgrandchildren. Oak Lawn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements. The viewing is Tuesday, December 1, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service is Wednesday, December 2, at 9am with Pastor Ron Lentine officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola at 10:15 AM. The family is grateful for the compassionate care of the Alacare Hospice team. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that memorials be directed to Alacare Home Health and Hospice. -
