Eleanor V. Huggins  1926-2015
Eleanor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Hollywood, Florida, on April 28, 1926. An inspiration to her family and friends, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Grady Huggins. Eleanor and Grady owned and operated the Bi-Rite Food Store and Bi-Rite IGA Foodliner on West Jackson Street. Eleanor was a long time member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and a volunteer at Baptist Hospital and Red Cross for many years. She became a member of The Order of Eastern Star 2254 and received her 50 year pin and certificate in 2004. She was a member of Florida Chapter #9 and a Past Worthy Matron, 1986. She was also a charter member of Shimron Temple #113 Daughters of the Nile. She is survived by her children: Brenda Whitaker and husband Bill of Pensacola, Kay Herring of Pensacola , Benita Wolfgang and husband Eric of Beeville, TX, and Kim Huggins and wife Pam of Pensacola. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jeff Davis and wife Keely; Rachel Brooks and husband Stephen and children Garrett and Mitchell; Karen May and husband Donald and children Glenn, Leanne, and Grace; Virginia Knapp and husband Chris and son Carsen; April Clark and husband Mike and children Rebecca, Michael, and Allison; Ryan Huggins; Amber Finazzo and husband PJ and son Luca; and Nathan Huggins as well as her sister-in-law Helen Dunfee of Pensacola and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, at Bayview Fisher Pou Chapel, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, at 2pm followed by services at 3pm. The service will be officiated by Reverend Ron Pouliot of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church with special rites performed by The Order of Eastern Star. The family extends deep appreciation for the loving care Eleanor received at Emerald Gardens Adult Living Facility and the compassionate care of Emerald Coast Hospice.
