Eula Mae Bowman  1926-2015
Eula Mae Bowman, 88, of Pensacola, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 21, 2015. She was born on September 10, 1926 to Porter and Alda Mixon in Pierce County, Georgia and attended schools there. Mae met and married Fred Bowman who was in the Navy. Mae was a devoted and proud Navy wife who loved each new adventure as they moved from duty station to duty station. After his military career, Fred and Mae owned and operated businesses in Orlando and Pensacola. They were best known for Uncle Fred's Pizza and Pasta on Saufley Field Road in Pensacola. After retiring, Mae pursued her passion for gardening. She would much rather be outside "digging in the dirt" and creating a beautiful yard. She also found time to volunteer with Covenant Hospice. After joining Myrtle Grove Baptist Church she became active with Keenagers, a seniors' group. In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred, their only son Eugene B. Bowman, II, and five sisters and five brothers. Mae is survived by her devoted daughter Cynthia Bowman Rogers and also many nieces, nephews, and three sisters and a brother. She also leaves behind her constant furry companions Prissy, Noel, and Chloe. Mae had an outgoing personality and a positive attitude. She was a special woman who was independent, strong, and courageous. She loved life and loved to laugh! Her take charge demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
