Alice W. Chisolm, 96, passed peacefully with family present on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was born in Union, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Maggie Welch; seven siblings; her husband, Barney Chisolm; and granddaughter, Kerrie Alice Rayder. She is survived by her children: Sue Wright (John); Patty Kell (Lee); Jack Chisolm (Kathi); Kathy Landrum (Wayne); and Donna Nobles (Thad); as well as her grandchildren: Kelley Hoover (Steve); Heather Ames (Caanan); Alexa Paugh; Amy Kell; Elizabeth O'Donnell (Casey); Meghan Rodriguez; Jason Kell (Carliayn); and Reef Landrum; and her great-grandchildren: Cole and Grant Ames; Camden Alice Rodriguez; and Mason Hoover, and numerous beloved relatives. She served in World War II in the Army Air Corps, married her high school sweetheart in 1944, and moved to Pensacola in 1954 where she raised five children. She received her Bachelor's Degree and taught elementary education at West Pensacola Elementary School. She was an active member for numerous years at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and visiting with Krafty Club and Ladies Club members. Funeral services will be at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 12:30 p.m., with visitation from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens. The family offers special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and dedicated medical staff at Summer Vista.
